Stockpocalypse Now – Investing isn’t easy part 2

I hope you’re enjoying your Saturday morning! I took a few minutes and put together my thoughts on the recent market volatility since all of our clients are invested in the stock market to some small or large extent. I want to take this opportunity again to make sure that if you want to come in to review your investment portfolio and financial plan prior to your semi-annual review please just call or email and ask! There is nothing (within our control and ability of course) we won’t do to help you be successful financially.

That being said, RBC analysts called for a major stock market catastrophe and essentially said pull all of your money out now. I’m betting their reps will sell an awful lot of annuities this year. This is a pretty good deal for them, watch their profits jump!

Speaking of annuities, I realize they sound so good right now. They say you’ll never lose money BUT you’ll make money when the market goes up. The guys hocking them on the radio (in the guise of a retirement income plan) are so smooth! PLEASE ask us to do a review first! We’d be happy to explain the truth behind what their pitching, and if it’s something that really is a good fit for you we’ll build it into your plan – but only after you understand exactly how it works… but I digress.

Investing Isn’t Easy Part 2

I’m calling this one STOCKPOCALYPSE because that’s basically what the RBC analysts are predicting. I break it down in my video, and put some color on the recent market events. In the end, investing requires patience and discipline.

Stockpocalypse update May 31, 2016

Update: the world has not collapsed or fallen apart. Even though the analysts predicted it, we’re still here – in one piece. We haven’t suffered a massive or cataclysmic setback, but rather the normal market volatility which happens each year.

Will we have another market setback? Of course! Investing in the stock market always has volatile and less volatile times. Volatility isn’t a one way street – it’s an up AND down event!
